Parylene Mandrel

Parylene is a special polymer coating that is considered by many to be the ultimate conformal coating due to its excellent chemical stability, electrical insulation, biocompatibility, and thermal stability. Parylene mandrels are widely used to internally support catheters and other medical devices while they are being built using polymers, braided wire, and continuous coils. VasPilot Healthcare‘s Parylene mandrels are made from stainless steel or nitinol, although brass, copper, and exotic alloys are also used depending on the specific needs of the medical device. Additionally, Parylene mandrels can be customized in various shapes and sizes to meet the precise requirements of different media-implanted medical devices, which can be tapered, stepped, or made with a “D-shaped” end to provide additional support during the manufacturing process.

Parylene is an advanced polymer coating whose unique physical and chemical properties give it some unique advantages in the field of medical devices, especially dielectric implants.
